A Note on Gas Port Location:
DCM: Gas port is located .265" forward of the shoulder. They are made this way to accomodate the port position on a G.I. front sight and using a free float handguard system. The G.I. location of the port is .298" but the G.I. handguards have a .033" thick sheet metal fwd plate sandwiched between the front sight and the shoulder on the barrel. If you are using a "Non free float" handguard with our DCM barrel, the shoulder of the barrel will have to be modified to accomodate this. We do not perform this modification. If you use an aftermarket gas block instead of a G.I. front sight on these barrels it is your responsibility to insure that it is compatible with our barrel
VARMATCH & CARBINE: Gas port is located .298" forward of the shoulder. This is to accomodate the majority of aftermarket gas blocks available. We include a gas block with our Varmatch barrels, however if you use an aftermarket gas block it is your responsibility to insure that it is compatible with our barrel.
A Note on Customer Supplied Bolts:
We can chamber and headspace an AR15 barrel WITHOUT your bolt as long as you are using a parkerized Mil-Spec bolt in your rifle. If you would like to use a chrome bolt or other aftermarket bolt (JP, Young Mfg., Fail Zero, etc.) that is not or may not be Mil-Spec you must supply us with the bolt so we can properly chamber and headspace your barrel. If you are sending a bolt for this chambering service we ask that you send the BOLT ONLY (no carrier) and that the bolt be stripped of it's ejector and extractor. This is needed as we spend far too much time dissasembling and re-assembling customers parts. Also, many of the chromed bolts have extremely tight fitting pins causing additional work on our part. If we are simply chambering a barrel for you (not a complete assembly to your upper) and you send your bolt assembled and/or with the carrier an additional charge will be added for dissasembly/re-assembly.
If we are performing a complete fitting of our barrel to your upper, please send the bolt/carrier components assembled as in the past.
Customer supplied Handguards:
With ANY AR10/DPMS (.30 cal style) or AR15 type upper that you send for an assembly: If the handguard or upper you send requires a special tool sold by the manufacturer of that component to assemble it, you must supply us with that tool or we will reserve the right to decline the fitting. We cannot possibly keep up with all of the handgaurds offered by all of the companies that make them, or know what tools are needed until we actually have them in front of us. If there are any questions on whether or not a special tool is needed, please contact the manufacturer of that component BEFORE sending it to us for a fitting.
Thank you for your consideration
