When sending a bolt action receiver for fitting, ONLY send your receiver, barrel (if we are copying a contour), bolt, recoil lug, and barrel nut (Savage) as applicable. We are no longer performing any stock work on bolt action rifles and we perform no trigger work on rifles so please remove these parts before sending. Also remove any other hardware (scopes, rings, scope bases, match sights and bases, etc.) before sending your rifle. We need no more than the stripped receiver, bolt, lug, and nut (Savage). If extra components above and beyond what we need are included or attached to the action when we receive it there will be a substantial (Minimum $50.00) charge added to your order to cover the handling of these components. No exceptions.
With ANY rifles, uppers, or barreled actions sent to us FOR ANY REASON, please send your rifle/action/upper to us in a hard plastic rifle case of some sort. We will NOT ship a barreled action in any
thing but a hard plastic case designed and manufactured to hold/ship a rifle. We do this for insurance purposes with our shipper and to reduce the chance of damage to your valuable firearm. If you do not send a hard case with your rifle/action suitable for the return of your completed project, we will provide one for the cost of $30.00. This is not an optional service that you can waive, but a policy with our company. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
Krieger Barrels will not be responsible for marks on or damage to the finish on any receiver or barrel that we are fitting. If you are building a new custom rifle please have any action finishing done AFTER the fitting has been completed. The tooling and fixtures we use are meant to apply force to the surface of the steel on both the barrel and the action to hold them firmly while assembling and scuffs and scratches can and do happen.
Our "Deep Chamber" service will actually run .100" to .200" deep. This is due to many actions needing a breech cone deeper than .100" making a chamber that is on the small end of this tolerance too short. When threading and shouldering a chambered barrel. ALWAYS check the depth of the chamber with a headspace gauge before seting up for any machining operation. Thank you.
PLESE NOTE: Krieger Barrels, Inc. does not offer any pre-fit or drop in barrels for any bolt action rifles. We can sell you a rifled and contoured blank (no threads/chamber/crown) or we can fit it to your receiver if the action you have is
listed on our list of accepted actions for fitting and we have a chambering reamer for the cartridge you want to use.
